Whitewater Rafting & Kayaking The Arkansas River

The Arkansas River in Colorado is a world class rafting & kayaking destination. Guided rafting trips are just 10 minutes away from Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort and are available daily May through September.

The Arkansas River offers over 100 miles of whitewater rafting & kayaking. Starting north of Buena Vista, Colorado heading towards Leadville extreme kayakers and rafters run Pine Creek, one of the most challenging class V whitewater kayaking sections in Colorado. Below Pine Creek is the Numbers section, this is a great advanced class IV-V whitewater section. The run between Buena Vista and Fisherman’s Bridge is often called the Milk Run or the Family Float, children only have to be 3 years of age and 35 LBS. to participate in this guided rafting trip. The most popular whitewater section in Colorado is Browns Canyon. This is the best whitewater rafting trip for families but a great class III-IV section for intermediate kayakers.

Arguably the best whitewater rafting trip in Colorado is the Royal Gorge in Canon City, Colorado, approximately 1.5 hours from the resort. On this rafting trip you will raft through a 1,200 foot canyon and under the Royal Gorge Bridge.
